Part of the empowering Broadway Bound Theatre Festival, Bengal to Berlin is a vibrant musical retelling of some hardly known history of quantum physics.
When his quantum theories are rejected by the Western scientific establishment, the young Indian physicist Satyendra Bose, in an act of intellectual rebellion, sends his groundbreaking quantum theory directly to Albert Einstein. Against all odds, Einstein responds, and Bose begins his trek across a divided world where imperial rule suffocates Indian intellect.

Let them pretend the world began in Europe. We’ll keep building our truths Light still finds its way through cracks.

"This show is passionate in its optimistic, rational message. Those who want to find themselves in an interconnected world should seek it out, and I hope that it grows beyond the three performances in this festival. Bravo to the creative team, who literally helped to embody these wonderful concepts. Unaccustomed as I am to physicists singing, I applaud the cast, director and composer on their mind-expanding work."

"The world most definitely does need a musical about quantum physics set in India during the early 20th Century. Professor Hasan Saruda Padamsee is correct. He wrote the book and lyrics, and, under the auspices of the Broadway Bound Theatre Festival, worked with composer Zlaja Miric, choreographer Nina Deacon, director Katrin Hilbe, and a multitude of talented folks to bring the new musical “Bengal to Berlin” to New York. As I saw during the performance and talkback, the show appealed to a full house of people, almost none of whom were physicists."
