Hades, playing with themes from Dante’s Inferno, finds Virgil, Roman poet, politician and guide through the underworld, scooping up Dante, down on his luck and in the worst mood. Dante is a failed politician, exiled from his home, lost in life and in the bowels of Gowanus. Instead of suicide Virgil leads him through hell toward a new beginning as a writer.
