Thrilled to participate in the New Jersey Repertory Company‘s Theatre Brut Short Play festival, presented on two weekends at their new West End Arts Center.

An Arrangement in Grey and Black“, hanging in the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, portrays Mrs. Whistler, James McNeill Whistlers mother. One early morning she steps out of her frame to chat with the Syrian cleaning lady.

Mrs. Whistler, James McNeill Whistler’s mother, portrayed in his famous painting “Arrangement in Grey and Black”, hanging in the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, steps out of her frame to chat with the Syrian cleaning lady, in early before the museum opens. They share tea, Ful Nabit (fava beans with salt and cumin), as Faiza shares her pain about losing her husband and children to war. She also shares her plans…. but Mrs. Whistler has something to say about that!
