Don Giovanni, I,11-13
One sequence of Mozart’s Don Giovanni done back to back by three different directors, as an opening event to a conference on “Ästhetik der Inszenierung” (the Aesthetics of Production/Direction) at the Opera Frankfurt. It was a fascinating experiment to see proven that the same scene between Don Giovanni, Donna Anna, Don Ottavio and Donna Elvira really will be completely different in look, style, emotional emphasis and overall interpretation. It was fabulous!
